Ministry Hall
No Cost
Come attend a Fall series of talks on philosophy and morality offered by Fr. Ben Thomsen. No preparation or registration is necessary.
Schedule:
October 9: Philosophical Apologetics
How does reason help us navigate among all the choices for faith in life? Is it just blind faith or are there logical grounds for Catholicism over other faith choices? We will briefly examine apologetics from a more philosophical perspective.
October 30: Happiness or Goodness for Morality?
We should be good. No, we should be happy. These sometimes seem to conflict. What does reason suggest we choose and why?
November 13: St. Augustine, the Pope’s Philosopher
Pope Leo XIV is an Augustinian, an order based in part on the philosopher St. Augustine and his 5th Century Rule of Life for religious. We will take a look at the philosophical thought of Augustine.
