Now that we are into cold weather months, cases of flu and other viruses have begun and will be on the rise until spring. This is a reminder that you are excused from attending Mass if you are sick. (Reference CCC 2181: The Sunday Eucharist is the foundation and confirmation of all Christian practice. For this reason the faithful are obliged to participate in the Eucharist on days of obligation, unless excused for a serious reason (for example, illness, the care of infants). In addition, if you are recovering from a contagious illness, you should refrain from shaking hands, taking Holy Communion on your tongue or from the Cup. Let’s all work together this winter to do our best to prevent the spread of viruses at our parish.
