Guidelines for Attending Mass

Guidelines for Attending in-person Mass inside the Church

Saint Jude the Apostle will do our best to clean our facilities and arrange for proper social distancing. Please read these guidelines before attending Mass:

  • Stay home if you are feeling any symptoms of illness, have been exposed to the virus within the last two weeks, or are caring for a family member who has been sick within the last two weeks.
  • Everyone 2 years of age and older must wear a mask for the duration of their stay on campus. There are no exceptions. If you cannot wear a mask, since the dispensation is still effective, please participate by watching our online Mass.
  • Plan to arrive early as it takes longer to seat everyone due to social distance guidelines.
  • Following standard guidelines, we have removed all missalettes from our pews. You may bring your own worship guide or use your phone apps to follow along with the Mass prayers and readings. You can easily access the readings using our Saint Jude Parish App (search your app store for
“myparish” and choose Saint Jude after downloading.)
  • Communion will be distributed only in the hand. Our clergy will give more detailed directions on our communion procedures during Mass.

Guidelines for Attending in-person Mass outside

  • Stay home if you are feeling any symptoms of illness, have been exposed to the virus within the last two weeks, or are caring for a family member who has been sick within the last two weeks.
  • Bring your own chair – please space out at least 6′ from others.
  • You can also choose to remain in your car and listen in on 90.5 FM.
  • If you are physically unable to walk to the Communion line, get the attention of one of our Knights of Columbus volunteers in a bright yellow vest.
  • Mass is held rain or shine. If raining or below 40 degrees, everyone will remain in their car.
  • Many people still choose to wear a mask, however, it is not required EXCEPT while in the Communion line.
  • Following standard guidelines, there are no worship guides. You may bring your own worship guide or use your phone apps to follow along with the Mass prayers and readings. You can easily access the readings using our Saint Jude Parish App (search your app store for “myparish” and choose Saint Jude after downloading.)
  • Communion will be distributed only in the hand. Our clergy will give more detailed directions on our communion procedures during Mass.
