Parish Rosary for the Founder of the Knights of Columbus
Saturday, August 22, after the 5:00 pm Mass
In Church
The intention is for the work of the Knights of Columbus in honor of the feast day of Blessed Michael McGivney, the founder of the Knights of Columbus. August 13th is the Feast Day for Blessed Father Michael McGivney. In 1882, while an assistant pastor at Saint Mary’s Church in New Haven, Connecticut, McGivney founded the Knights of Columbus, with a small group of men in his Parish. The goal was to care for the poor and the widowed, to make its members better Catholics and better Americans, and to contribute to the spiritual and civic well-being of the church and the local communities of its members. This remains the core of the Knights’ Mission today. Please join us to pray the Rosary in remembrance of Father McGivney and for the charitable work of our Knights of Columbus here in our parish and around the world.
Our Knights of Columbus Council leads us in praying the Rosary one Sunday each month for a special intention. Whether you have experience with the Rosary or want to learn this amazingly powerful prayer, this is the perfect opportunity to pray the Rosary in a group.
