Men’s Club Dinner with Speaker Bishop Joel Konzen

Join us for an evening with Bishop Joel Konzen. Bishop Joel Konzen will join us to speak on Pope Leo’s recent encyclical Magnifica Humanitas, which addresses safeguarding human dignity and promoting the common good in the age of artificial intelligence. As one commentator summarized: It is a call to integrate faith, human dignity, and ethical responsibility in the face of technological advancement, particularly artificial intelligence, while continuing the Church’s tradition of social teaching for the common good. A member of the Society of Mary (Marist), he was first assigned after ordination to Marist School in Atlanta in 1980. He remained at the school for nine years in various roles, including teacher, admissions director, principal and president. In addition to returning to Marist School in 1999, where he served until his episcopal ordination, he assisted in founding two new schools in Atlanta – Notre Dame Academy and Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School.

The Saint Jude Men’s Club is for all men of our parish and promotes fellowship through social interactions and also supports the parish through philanthropic fundraising events throughout the year.
Our yearly activities include:
Dinner meetings with guest speakers, Lenten Fish Fry Dinners, Adopt-A-Family Truck Loading, Christmas Social, and the Annual Golf Outing.
Funds raised are used for parish projects. In the past, the Men’s Club has helped with renovations in the Stapleton Center Kitchen, parish landscaping projects, contributions towards the church renovation, Ministry Hall portable stage, and furniture for the youth room.
