Parents are responsible for transportation to and from the retreat. The contact information for registered candidates will be provided to families to organize carpools. Families are invited to attend Sunday Mass with their candidate at 10:30 am.
Registration for the retreat must be completed by the September 27th lesson.
All Confirmation candidates, regardless of school affiliation, will attend a Saint Jude the Apostle one-night retreat. We fully support and encourage participation in a school-sponsored spiritual retreat, but this does not replace attending a Saint Jude retreat. As you prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation, the retreat experience is designed to focus on the sacrament and build our filial parish community at your spiritual home, Saint Jude the Apostle.
There is a limit of 65 candidates on each retreat. If you miss registering for one of these retreats or your preferred date is full, you will need to register for and attend our parish’s Life Teen Retreat in late winter/early spring to meet the Confirmation retreat requirement.
Service Opportunities
Candidates are asked to give service to our parish during the formation year. Here are some examples:
- Life Teen sponsored service projects
- Altar Server Guild
- Saint Jude Music Ministry
- Teen Leader with EDGE
- Teen PSR catechist
- Teen VBS volunteer (early June)
- Rise Against Hunger (late January)
- Mustard Seed Mission Trip
Choose a Confirmation Saint
Names of saints are chosen to serve as patrons and models for those being confirmed.

Choose a Confirmation Sponsor
The role of the sponsor is to provide the candidate with prayerful support and guidance in his or her Christian walk and, with the celebrant who confirms, to represent the Church in receiving the person into the communion of the Church. See our Sponsor Guidelines.
