Our parish tradition is for our three communities to come together in a trilingual Divine Mercy celebration at 3:00 pm the Sunday after Easter. Our annual celebration includes Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and a blessing of Divine Mercy images. A special handout is provided and all you need to participate in this beautiful liturgy. Please note that there will be no confessions offered on this Sunday nor will a mass be included in the celebration. Please make personal arrangements for confession.
To ensure one is in a state of grace to fulfill the particular indulgence of Divine Mercy Sunday, it is most prudent to confess either that weekend or shortly before. However, the Holy See has decreed, provided one is in a state of grace sufficient to receive Communion, confession can be received within twenty days either before or after Divine Mercy Sunday.
In order to receive the special graces Our Lord promised for Divine Mercy Sunday: make a good Confession beforehand, receive Holy Communion on Divine Mercy Sunday (or Vigil mass), and stay in the state of grace and trusting in His Divine Mercy.
To receive the plenary indulgence granted by the Church: Confession and Holy Eucharist, prayer for the Holy Father’s intentions, and participation in public devotions to the Divine Mercy on Divine Mercy Sunday itself.
