The Christ Child Society of Atlanta (CCSA) is a local chapter of a national organization that is dedicated to serving babies and children in need.
Through our organization, CCSA has programs that reach vulnerable families and children in our community.
Members of CCSA assemble and provide layettes of newborn clothing wrapped in a homemade quilt that is sewn by our volunteers. These layettes are donated to undeserved mothers in the Atlanta area through clinics, mobile units and women’s centers. We also provide mini layettes to welcome the families at the Grady NICU where we rock and help feed the babies. Members create and maintain a playground and garden at the Elaine Clark Center. We serve lunch to students at Cristo Rey. We collect, sort and have donated over 46,000 gently used children’s books to clinics and bookshelves throughout our city.
CCSA has several components to support literacy including; library help at St. Peter Claver, a summer reading support program, Read to Me reading sessions with donated new books, Book Fair support and weekly story hours with crafts at SPC. We also have a tutoring program at StarHouse.
